What is Sunshine?
Sunshine is made up of two different programs: an incubator and accelerator. We are different that other programs because we have not start and end time. You are in the incubator for as long or short as needed. When you are ready for the accelerator you graduate to that. Once in the accelerator, you can stay as long as you need or desire.
Looking a the anceint Greeks definition of time, might help understand why we do this:
The ancient Greeks had two words for time: chronos and kairos. The former refers to chronological or sequential time, while the latter signifies a proper or opportune time for action. While chronos is quantitative, kairos has a qualitative, permanent nature. Kairos also means weather in Modern Greek.
Criteria for the Sunshine Incubator
- You have an idea for an entrepreneurial effort
- You are willing to explore the feasibility of the idea, e.g. research customer segments and your value proposition to them
- You are working toward forming and entity (e.g. LLC)
- You are willing to start a business checking account to separate your business from personal accounting
- You are willing to establish a social media presence
When all of this is complete and you start to produce revenue, you are ready to move on to the Accelerator.
Criteria for the Sunshine Accelerator:
- Completed everything from the above incubator list and have revenue
- You are willing to talk openly about your financials and to keep them up to date at least monthly
- You are willing to work on and do experiments based on a Business Model Canvas
- You are available to meet at least two hours every other week
