Clean Energy Coalition – Regenerating Lansing:
Decarbonization / Electrification: By using Litecoin miners powered by clean energy sources, the Fledge reduces its carbon footprint and contributes to its decarbonization. Litecoin mining involves using computers to solve complex mathematical equations to verify and add transactions to the Litecoin blockchain. This process requires a significant amount of electricity to power the computers that perform the mining operations. By powering the Litecoin miners with clean energy sources, the Fledge can offset the electricity used by the miners and reduce its carbon emissions. In addition, the Fledge uses the profits generated from the Litecoin mining operations to invest in further clean energy technologies.
